Confidential Care are an integral part of our strategy for the support and wellbeing of our staff. Our Account Manager is excellent; he is efficient and completely reliable. We have developed excellent relationships over the years with Confidential Care. Working as a team contributes significantly to the effectiveness of our investment in our EAP.
The counselling support and advice lines are core business elements which are greatly appreciated by our staff. However Confidential Care offer a great deal more than that. I have today been working on a project with a Confidential Care trainer delivering some bespoke training for our staff in an area that can in some circumstances result in sickness absence.
The best EAP's are the ones that listen to their customers and where possible offer creativity within the contract.

The Reuters news operation began working on trauma issues with CiC in 2006. Over the course of three years, we jointly developed a range of tools for managers and staff, from face-to-face training courses to an industry-leading resource website and multi-lingual pamphlets describing CiC's 24/7 support service.
While we started out by focusing on the most pressing issues of traumatic response among journalists who deal with violence and natural disaster, the programme has grown to recognize the broader gamut of cumulative stresses and potential burnout facing news teams in a real-time financial reporting environment.
Among the particular features of Reuters to which CiC has adapted and responded are our need to address a global workforce, with many journalists working outside major centres; the multilingual nature of our news operation; the fact that many of our staff do not simply fly in and out of stressful situations but are on longer-term assignments, or may live permanently in the countries in question; and the fact that most of our journalists are engaged day to day in highly competitive, real-time financial reporting rather than war or disaster coverage.
CiC's combination of training, counselling and an ability to provide crucial support at short notice virtually anywhere in the world has, in my view, helped us to significantly advance understanding and awareness among our managers and staff of stress and trauma issues.

We (Arval) commenced our relationship with CIC in December 2001 having undertaken a formal review of several providers at that time and identified that CIC were able to meet our business needs and offered a cost effective service.
During this time, we have developed a close and valuable working relationship with CIC. We continuously receive positive and constructive feedback about the service from our employees and our usage levels bear this out! The lifestyle workshops that have also been delivered to our employees have been well attended and provide helpful insights into the subject matters ~ this has again raised awareness of this important benefit to our employees and promoted their trust and usage of the service.
We operate a very open style of communication channels within our organisation and actively promote employee updates and news via our intranet site – Compass. This has enabled us to regularly include the monthly Helpsheets as well as reinforcing the CIC brand across our business.
In summing up, I would reiterate that CIC continue to work with us in very much a "partner" role and their reputation continues to stay at a high standard. I had a very specific legal problem that was causing me real distress to the point where I wasn't sleeping or eating properly and was getting more and more upset each day not knowing which way to turn and couldn't see a way out of it. A colleague suggested I call CiC for some legal advice and although I knew they provided this service I put off contacting them since I felt sure they would not have dealt with previous cases like mine and wouldn't be able to help me.
After five days I felt I had nothing to lose so I called them. Within 15 minutes they had a legal professional call me back who specialized in the problem I was experiencing and had dealt with similar cases. Not only did she give me excellent advice, she really calmed me down and was extremely supportive. She even contacted me later to see how I'd got on and to see if I needed further help. She gave me clear and concise information, outlined a plan of action for me and also gave me contact details of local solicitors who would work on my case free of charge.
By that evening, I had completely sorted out my problem and was regretting not contacting them sooner. They really made a tremendous difference to me and I really don't know what would have happened had I not contacted them. I would urge anyone, if they have a problem (no matter how unusual) to contact them for advice.
